Enter a Bondi Junction address and we'll walk you through how the proposed planning changes could change the sunlight it receives.

An indicative study of how shadows from Bondi Junction's buildings fall in summer and winter, and how taller buildings under current and proposed planning controls would change them. It is a research tool, not a planning-grade solar-access assessment.
Not a Council product. This is an independent visualisation. It is not sponsored, endorsed by, or affiliated with Waverley Council. Building heights are derived from 2020 LiDAR and the shadow modelling is indicative only. I would much prefer to use Waverley Council's own shadow studies, and will gladly update this site once they are made available.
Solar access standard. Under the current LEP, development must still allow the private open space of neighbouring dwellings to retain at least 3 hours of direct sunlight between 9 am and 3 pm (in mid-winter). This control may not be retained. This tool visualises shadows and sunlight but does not assess compliance with that standard.
